Royal Canal Lining
Geoline were contracted in 2012 to line 10,000m2 sections of the Royal Canal. The canal runs from Dublin to Longford, and was reopened in 2010 after many years in disrepair.
The sections of the canal being restored were dammed and drained before our team moved in to install the 2.0mm HDPE mono textured surface liner. We worked on sections in both Dublin and Longford. Pictured are photos of the liner being installed in Dublin, and a recent photo of the Longford stretch from Google Maps. Information about the canal lining process can be found here.
This Longford section forms part of the Royal Canal Greenway and is a great place to walk and cycle. You can find more information about the Greenway route available on the Waterways Ireland website.
