Firestone PondGard™ for garden pond applicationsThe 1.0 mm thick Firestone PondGard is specifically designed for small garden pond applications. Because of its specific formulation and production process, only the Firestone PondGard membrane is guaranteed to be compatible with aquatic life in accordance with testing reports published by the Water Research Centre in the UK. Firestone EPDM Geomembrane, a high-performing rubber liner The main component of Firestone Lining Systems is Firestone EPDM Geomembrane, a single-ply synthetic rubber waterproofing membrane made of ethylene – propylene – diene terpolymer, mixed with carbon black, oils, curing agents and processing aids. It is calendered into large sheets and vulcanized.
Key features and benefits
Pond Fleece is the ideal solution to reliably protects pond liner from stones and roots and forms an effective protective and stabilising layer under the pond liner.
It is much more effective than a sand layer, as you don't have to worry about the sand moving over time or falling down steep banks. The Protective fleece we supply is 200 g/m2 quality. Please Contact Us if you require more information or to discuss other options. ![]() We strongly recommend this geotextile underlay material for use beneath a flexible liner, not only to help protect it from puncture by sharp stones, roots etc, but also to stabilise soft sub-soils and reduce excessive localised stretching of the liner. We supply a top quality underlay produced by Polyfelt Geosynthetics. Polyfelt TS40 is a mechanically bonded continuous polypropylene filament. This 180 gsm non-woven needle punched felt offers advantages over other geotextiles such as increased resistance to dynamic loads, greater longitudinal, transverse and diagonal tensile strength, and superior long-term behaviour. What makes Polyfelt really special is the quality and the characteristics of its continuous fibres. They remain unaffected by extreme climatic influences such as frost, heat, or moisture. They are UV-resistant and have no by-products, which makes Polyfelt entirely environmentally compatible. Polyfelt TS demonstrates high uniform strength in all directions, which means there are no inherently weak areas.
The new Aquamax Eco 16,000 filter pumps
The Aquamax range is known worldwide for pumping polluted water into filter systems.
The Aquamax range changed the pond pump market for ever, now with the new Aquamax a winning formula has been improved upon. Aquamax pumps were the first filter pumps that would stand the test of time in continuous running over many years. They have significant better ratings than any other submersible and sump pumps in a direct comparison. Those other submersible pumps with their high power consumption, weak bearings and limited life span (seldom more than 3000 operating hours) are now a thing of the past. The difference to other pond pumps lies, as before, in the particularly distinctive impeller that can powerfully transport highly pollluted water with its three large blades.
There is no comparison between Aquamax and drainage or cellar pumps
OASE have now even improved on a winning formula. Our ongoing product development has resulted in an improved Aquamax range. The main advantages of Aquamax compared to others pumps remain. The specially designed impellor, allowing even the largest particles to pass through en route to the filter. With a life expectancy of around 10 times longer and up to 75% savings on running cost, there can be no comparison with traditional drainage pumps. This is guaranteed by the tried and tested canned rotor technology. With the exception of the Aquamax 5500, all Aquamax models feature stainless steel motor housings. A new pre-filter protects pond wildlife from injury. Whilst still allowing particles up to 8 mm such as Koi excrement’s, dead leaves or weed to pass through. The new strainer is simple to disassemble and to clean. Neither pump nor hose need to be dismantled. Further more a higher flow rate could be achieved by decreasing the filter clearance. A main feature of the new Aquamax is the side mounted 1½“ outlet, complete with free moving ball joint. Thus if required, the hose can even be led across the bottom of the pond to the filter. A threaded step down hose tail is also supplied, allowing the simple connection of four different hose sizes up to 1½“. Aquamax is the ideal pump for Koi ponds, streams or waterfalls of typical height within any garden pond. Also the perfect pump for gravity fed filters From now on, getting ”pure enjoyment” from your garden pond is made even easier – and you can get there quicker: with Filtoclear, the innovative filter with a clear water guarantee from OASE

FiltrationAlgae and dirt are flocculated by the UVC clarifier. Then the ”treated” water flows through the filter unit’s fine mechanical and large-pore biological filter elements, which support the filtration process and clarify the water. The pressure produced by the pump allows the water to flow back into the pond via a watercourse or a water feature. CleaningThanks to its unique ”Easyclean Technology”, cleaning Filtoclear is really easy and practical with just a few simple steps:
Activate the cleaning function by opening the outlet and turning the rotary switch. Next, move the cleaning lever up and down, thus ”wringing out” the filter elements. At the same time, the pond water flows into the filter and forces the dirty water out. Then simply turn the switch back into the filter position and put the cap back on.
Why is Ultra Violet (UVC) filtration important?Small single cell algae are the usual cause of green water in garden ponds. These algae make it difficult to see into the pond and if you have fish they will only be seen for brief glimpses as they approach the surface. Technically this algea can lower the kh value, inteferes with the nitrate/nitrite cycle in the biological filter, lower oxygen levels, and increasing “ph” levels. Ultra Violet is a safe technique used for obtaining clear water without affecting fish or plant life. Ultra violet light clears water due to floculation of the algea. Floculations is the process of making very small algae cells expand and form clumps. These clumps or large particles are then big enough to be trapped by the mechanical medium in the filter. Sunlight and fish stock are the main factors in the promotion of algae's, and for such reasons the selected size of a UV unit should take such environmental aspects into account. UV's also safely and effectively eliminates pathogens and bacteria Rule of thumb for calculating UV requirement: Ponds without fish stock should have 1 watt of UVC power per 1000 litres of water Ponds with fish (no Koi) should have 2 watts of UVC power per 1000 litres of water Ponds with Koi should have 3 watts of UVC power per 1000 litres of water The flow rate of water through a UV must be kept within strict margins in order that the UV light has sufficient time to act upon the algae. Several of our UV units have means of adjusting water flow as well as automatic and continuous lamp cleaning to ensure the full strength of the UV light reaches the water. Two lights are included with this package deal - please Contact Us if you require more lights or information.
The Lunaqua 10 lighting system can be implemented constructively underwater as well as above water. It is considered a system because the compact lights are connected via special connections with the 12 volt safety transformer. Likewise the transformer can also be implemented underwater. This enables the bridging of long distances between the 230 V outlet and the transformer with standard cables.
